DESCRIPTION:
French, Large Cast & gilt bronze Balloon Clock, the case depicting a hot air balloon with a woven basket below, and is anchored to the ground within a fenced platform. Has a gold dore finish. Dial has applied Arabic numerals and fancy black hands; typical round French brass time and strike movement, signed Japy Freres, c1890
CONDITION:
the gilt finish on the case is still in very bright condition; all the gilt brass "ropes" and basket pieces are intact. Note the base only to this clock is gilt white metal. The Japy movement is running, however appears oil soaked and would benefit from cleaning. Ht 27"
